A bit earlier this time, but better early than late!
We’ll revisit The Exiled People soon enough, but I spent the last two weeks implementing Jump Point Search (an A* optimization) for hexagonal grids. According to the paper, it’s an open problem! I think I have the solution. I just need to prove it’s JPS >= A*
I participated in a 12-hour gamejam recently, though I didn’t get as much done as I would’ve liked. It ultimately was a stealth-ish game where sonar is the only form of vision. Sending “pings” would illuminate the walls/objects as they bounced off them.
